In his opening remarks, Lutz Walter emphasised the role of ECOSYSTEX, the community of EU-funded projects related to textile sustainability that Textile ETP is facilitating, in fostering innovation and collaboration. ECOSYSTEX has been instrumental in driving sustainable solutions, bringing together businesses, researchers, and policymakers to create a resilient, resource-efficient future for the textile sector.
The conference agenda reflected a growing recognition of the circular economy as a crucial component in combating environmental challenges posed by textile and plastic waste. Topics ranged from the development of bio-based materials and recycling technologies to policy frameworks aimed at enhancing circular business models. The event also provided an invaluable platform for industry professionals to connect with partners from two of our EU projects: PESCO-UP and SOLSTICE.
