SmartX Innovation Hub
European Community of Smart and High Performance Textile Innovators
Together with Titera (SI), Tèxtils.CAT (ES), CeNTi (PT), IVGT (DE), University of Borås's Swedish School of Textiles (SE), Science Park Borås (SE), and Sistema Moda Italia (IT), the Textile ETP has launched the SmartX Innovation Hub to help e-textile and high-performance textile companies, research organisations and brands to learn, network and collaborate.
The Hub follows the conclusion of the SmartX Europe project, a Horizon 2020 initiative boosting e-textiles and wearables into the market. One of the most notable achievements of the project was the realisation that sharing and cross-sector collaboration can play a significant role in innovation.
With online and in-person events, the Innovation Hub offers a diverse range of activities addressing a wide spectrum of high-performance textiles and wearables. This ensures that professionals from diverse backgrounds can discover relevant and valuable content tailored to their specific interests and build new projects or working groups towards upcoming legislations.

In its 2022 EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, the European Commission outlined a vision and associated policy goals to guide the European textile ecosystem toward a green and digital transition. This strategy primarily targets key aspects of textile sustainability where the impact of high-performance fibres can be substantial. However, markets such as e-wearables and other applications of high-performance fibres are also relevant and impactful in consumers' daily lives or in other sustainable strategies, and therefore should find a place within this EU strategy.
Professionals in the European textile sector who are committed to ambitious goals, aiming to elevate markets to new levels aligned with the EU's objectives or expanding that scope, are encouraged to join the innovation hub.
Within this hub, we provide a platform for learning, collaboration, access to information, visibility, and the opportunity to come together to address challenges and work towards enhancing the visibility of these markets. We believe that by uniting, we become stronger together.

Pricing and packages
A full-year learning and networking programme for the price of a 2-day conference ticket.
The membership in the Innovation Hub is a yearly recurring subscription, automatically renewed each year in January (see FAQs for the cancelations conditions). New joiners subscribing as of 1 July each year will be invoiced 60% of the yearly fee for the running calendar year. They will be automatically invoiced the normal yearly fee in January of the next calendar year, and all following years.

Our Hub revolves around monthly webinars delving into the realms of smart textiles and high-performance fibres. These webinars cover a spectrum of functionalities and end markets, providing valuable insights through identified value chain maps.
In addition to these digital engagements, our Innovation Hub organises physical events, including exclusive tours at trade fairs. We meticulously consider trending markets and gaps in value chains to ensure our events are always relevant and impactful.
To provide an immersive experience with the industry, we offer a public podcast titled 'Smart Textiles, Smarter World' showcasing the latest developments and serves as an introduction to the dynamic world of textiles. For our members, we have an exclusive podcast called 'Meet the Expert', featuring interviews and insights tailored for those on the go. This member-exclusive content is designed to offer valuable information to our community during their commutes.
The SmartX Innovation Hub also include activities from the SmartInno EU-funded project, formally known as Advancing Knowledge & Innovation in European Smart Textiles Education. Officially launched in Autumn 2024 address the educational gaps in the fast-growing field of smart textiles, SmartInno aims to identify the specific skills needed in smart textiles, bridge the knowledge gaps in educational programs, and create innovative, practical learning materials for students and teachers alike.
