The year 2020 and the Textile ETP (like all its members) look back at an eventful year that posed many more challenges than anybody would have expected on 1st January.
We have successfully launched 2 Strategic Programmes and added 2 additional EU projects (Speedboat-C & RESERVIST). Like everybody, we tried to make the most of the tools for digital communication and virtual collaboration, which within our large European-wide membership worked actually really well. Through our SmartX programme we have launched 19 smart textile innovation projects, directly benefitting 37 SMEs from 13 European countries during economically difficult times.
We have ambitious plans for 2021 when the new EU research and innovation programme HORIZON EUROPE will start, the European Commission is expected to adopt a European Textiles Strategy and our Strategic Programmes will move into the next stage.
