ECOSYSTEX and CISUTAC at New Cotton Project's Policy Workshop

On 7 March, Textile ETP and several other CISUTAC partner attended a policy roundtable on EPR.

Hosted by the New Cotton Project, the roundtable brought together EU policy makers and leading textile industry stakeholders to discuss some of the key challenges, and potential solutions to help ensure incoming EPR schemes are set up to succeed.

Textile ETP Secretary General Lutz Walter presented the ambition and results ECOSYSTEX community, today composed of 28 EU-funded member projects focusing on textile sustainability; while Ekaterina Stoyanova EURATEX presented CISUTAC's shared vision on EPR, emphasising on the significance of harmonisation, robust partnerships, and effective enforcement to establish a well-functioning system for textile waste management. CISUTAC project partners from RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Centexbel, and RREUSE were also present at the event.

New Cotton is a three-year multi-stakeholder project that harnesses cutting edge chemical recycling technology to pilot and scale circular fashion within garment production. Among the consortium are Textile ETP Members RISE and Infinited Fiber Company.
