The first open call for funding of the SmartX Accelerator Programme closed on 29th February. 54 SME applicants from 15 different EU and H2020 associate countries distributed across 35 different project propsals have applied. 22 of those projects are presented by single SME's while the remaining 13 are SME partnerships. Most of those projects address the Protection or Consumer Health markets while the rest are divided among sports , medical and industrial applications. After receipt of 120 Expressions of Interest, 96 potential applicants received coaching and 38 submitted their application with 35 of them being eligible. Now it's the time for our 12 Experts for the Selection Committee (click hereto meet them) to evaluate the proposals in a meeting that will take place on 27th March.
The first funded projects are expected to start in May 2020.On 18th February the last of our round of regional information sessions took place in Vienna, Austria embedded into the Symposium Smart Textiles organised by the Austrian Association of the Textile, Clothing, Leather and Footwear Industries. The SmartX Coordinator, Lutz Walter from the Textile ETP presented project activities and, specifically, explained the call for projects. The well-attended event was an opportunity to: Discover the international state of the art and innovation in Smart Textiles and electronic systems; Understand the potential for Smart Textiles for the Austrian industry; Attend a panel discussion with business and research participants; Get to know all about applying for SmartX coaching support and funding.
