Throwback SmartX IOT Hackathon

On 29-30 October the first SmartX IoT hackathon took place in Berlin hosted by Sourcebook and 4 Berlin-based textiles and flexible electronics labs.

The first cohort of 13 smart textiles SME's from the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Latvia, Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden pitched their current products/prototypes and their challenges of overcoming technical or market entry barriers.

Following their presentations, they benefited from an afternoon of ideation sessions with the local labs and could interact with other SMEs to establish future partnerships for their possible application to the first open funding call of SmartX. In the meantime, the consortium partners were having the coaching-the-coaches session where experts from the participating cluster organisations were trained in the details of open call requirements and learned how to best support the SME's during the project application stage.

On Day 2 the SME’s received detailed information about the open calls, the funding and coaching support they can obtain and the requirements for a successful application. Later they had the opportunity to individually meet the consortium experts and had their first coaching session.
