On 12 July, Secretary General, Lutz Walter, had the privilege of addressing the audience of the digitALL Fashion Innovation Summit in Munich, Germany. Lutz Walter's presentation highlighted the sustainability challenges encountered by the textile and fashion industry today.

As a results of two months of collaboration between the researchers, industry experts and other stakeholders involved in the 23 ECOSYSTEX project members, the ECOSYSTEX Community, facilitated by Textile ETP, is publishing their first Input Paper identifying the most pressing and impactful research gaps and needs to be filled to enable the green transition of the European textile ecosystem.

Following the election of the new Textile ETP Board in Porto on 10 May, our new President Marina Crnoja-Cosic (representing Euratex on behalf of CIRFS, the European Man-Made Fibres Association) is starting her new role on 1 July 2023, for a duration of 2 years.

We are delighted to inform you that Textile ETP will participate in, and organise many activities at ITMA 2023, the world's largest international textile and garment technology exhibition, in Milan, Italy, on 8-14 June 2023.

The 17th ETP's Annual European Textile Conference and General Assembly and CITEVE's iTechStyle Summit took place on 10 to 12 May in Porto, Portugal. The event brought together industry leaders, experts, and academia to explore the latest trends, strategies, opportunities, and challenges in the textile sector.

Textile ETP, the leading European Technology Platform for the textile and clothing industry, is delighted to announce the election of Dr. Marina Crnoja-Cosic as the new President. The vote took place at the General Assembly held on 10 May 2023 in Porto, Portugal, during the Textile ETP Annual Conference and CITEVE’s iTechStyle Summit.

On 9 May, the Textile ETP team had the opportunity to visit companies in the Guimaraes region in Portugal, also known as the birth of the Portuguese textile industry.

On 26 April 2023, leading experts from the textile and fashion industry gathered at the Vestindien Textile Fashion Center in Borås, Sweden, for a day-long conference on the transition to a circular textile and fashion industry.

On 29 March, Textile ETP Secretary General Lutz Walter spent the day in Paris, France, to discuss the future of textiles with various industry stakeholders.
