On 5 October 2022, our Secretary General Lutz Walter spoke at the World Textile Information Network (WTiN)'s Digital Textile Conference in Como, Italy.

On 3 October 2022, Judith Bosch, our Project Manager, attended the WINTEX Project workshop held in Tunisia to discuss the future of smart textiles. She presented the current gaps and how a community is key to address those barriers.

On 29 and 30 September, the Textile ETP attended the CITE kick off meeting. This project is funded under the EIT Manufacturing's initiative to boost circular economy innovations in textiles in entrepreneurship university programmes.

This week, the CISUTAC consortium met in-person in Ghent, Belgium, for the kick-off meeting of the project. An opportunity to discuss the different aspects of CISUTAC.

Launched today, the new Horizon Europe project CISUTAC will support the transition to a circular and sustainable textile sector. As part of a consortium of 27 partners working on the project, Textile ETP will be responsible for the Textile Circularity Multiplier Initiative and leading the dissemination & communications activities.

Today, our Secretary General Lutz Walter presented Textile ETP's work on Smart Textile at the InMotion Smart Textiles Conference 2022 in Weimar, Germany.

After the suc­cess of the SmartX Europe project, and our​‘Inno­vat­ing in Smart Tex­tiles’ Mas­ter­class, the Textile ETP is com­bin­ing these two com­mu­ni­ties of +1000 experts.

The Textile ETP is now on board a brand new European project, IRISS, which aims to connect, synergize and transform the Safe and Sustainable by Design materials community in the EU and beyond, shifting towards a holistic integration of safety, climate neutrality, circularity and functionality of materials, products and processes.

To ensure that materials are sustainable for humans and the environment, to increase recycling and use resources in a more efficient way, efforts are required from an early stage of design and manufacturing. Thus, the EC has launched a major initiative, IRISS, which will accelerate the transition to safe and sustainably designed materials, products and processes. The consortium, led by IVL, will create a global network of experts and stakeholders. Six value chains represented in the project will provide a clear picture of the industry’s ongoing and future transformation.

The Textile ETP attended the Techtextil fair in Frankfurt between 21-24 June, 2022, welcoming our members and interested textile innovators.

This year, the 16th Textile ETP Annual Conference took place as a physical event in Brussels on 20-21 April 2022, It was combined with the final conference of the SmartX project as well as the annual General Assembly of the Textile ETP.

On 11 May, we will host our last Smart Textiles Masterclass dedicated to Product-Market Fit and Business Models. We will take this occasion to look back on the results and the solid network we have built and invite you to join our Final Conference in Milan on 31 May & 1 June 2022.
